30th ANNIVERSARY DINNER We have finalised the details and date of our 30th Anniversary Dinner, probably the biggest event we have ever organised; it is aimed to be a Celebration of the Past, the Present and Future of our Club. Such a special event deserves a special Guest Speaker and full details are now available on the 'News' section of our Website. ______________________________ DAVID WATSON 1986-2009 Sapper DAVID WATSON was killed in Afghanistan on New Years Eve working in his role within Bomb Disposal. A former play with our Club, a tribute to him can be found in the 'News' area. _______________________________________  CLUB WEBSITE CHANGES Our Club Website will undergo some changes soon. Whilst we try to keep the information as up-to-date as possible, several discrepancies may arise and information may not always be current. We ask you all, Visitors, Members and Officials to bear with us whilst these changes, which will be for your benefit in the long term, are made. The 2010 Event has been provisionally booked for FRIDAY, 24th SEPTEMBER, a date for your diaries! ____________________ 2009 Presentation Night WHAT A NIGHT!! The 2009 Presentation Night was held on SATURDAY, the 13th of JUNE 2009, at the LANCASTRIAN SUITE, DUNSTON. Wonderfully supported and very well controlled and compered by DAVE NELTHORPE and STEVE BURDIS, ably assisted by SEAN RENNER on the Disco. Many many congratulations to everyone within our Club for all the work done during the last season. The same congratulations to everyone who received Individual Awards as well and also the recipients of the Lauren Barber Memorial Trophy and the Chairman's Shield. A True Night of Celebration and many thanks also to everyone who came along! The 2010 Presentation Night has been arranged for SATURDAY, 5th of JUNE, 2010. More details will be available as we approach this date. ___________________________________ 2009 SUMMER SOCCER FESTIVAL We held a Summer Soccer Tournament over the weekend of June 6th (U7s and U9s) and 7th (U8s and U10s) at Watergate in Lobley Hill. This was an outstanding success due to the work done by many individuals in organising it and others who assisted over the weekend. Many thanks to everyone who helped. U9 Group Winners were WHICKHAM FELLSIDE YELLOWS Runners-Up were WALDRIDGE PARK BLUES U10 Group Winners were HEXHAM JUNIORS Runners-Up were WHICKHAM FELLSIDE GREENS The U7 and U8 Groups were Non-Competitive. Congratulations to all the Winners, Runners-up and everyone who participated, we hope you had a good day and we will hold another Summer Festival in 2010. ___________________________________ 2009 SUMMER SOCCER TRIALS Once more our very popular Summer Soccer Trials took place in June and July. The dates were Sunday June 21st and 28th and July 5th from 10.00am until Noon. These sessions are part of our community work and have enabled new teams to be formed as well as other teams added to and strengthened; age groups in attendance were from Under-6 to Under-10; however we are always interested in anyone wanting to join or find out details about our 11-a-side teams as well. Expert and structured coaching was offered to everyone attending by our qualified Coaches and Assistants.
